Summer Marches On

Jody and I have been together for more than 20 years now and his consistent whine about my wardrobe is that I dress in baggy clothing. Lately I’ve been trying to change that with summer knitted tops. Thankfully, my efforts have not gone unnoticed. With that in mind, I figure I’ll knit at least one more summer top this season. I’m going to be knitting Thira.

This is going to be a leap of faith. I haven’t worn a halter top in ages and ages (and ages). So I’m not sure how it will look on me. Since it’s being knit in Cascade Fixation (WEBS link; Ravelry link) it’s going to be very snug and form fitting. And (the wheels of manipulation are turning) if it looks bad on me, I can use that as an excuse to go back to my baggy tops.

In doggie news, the girls (at least Shelby and Annie) were happy to find out that we’re putting off our trip to Ohio so they won’t have to stay in a doggie hotel. Hannah was going to stay with friends so it would have been a week long playdate for her. I’m a little disappointed because Jody and I have never been on a vacation together. (Really, never.) But on the other hand, I wasn’t thrilled about the prospect of leaving the girls. I’m such a wimp! Next time I complain about having dogs, please remind me of this. hehehe
